#SBPM Spotlights Michelyn Hood Tinor's PGH SPOT!
You may have seen the face of Michelyn Hood Tinor throughout the city of Pittsburgh in several different advertisements in local magazines, billboards, Med Express, Comcast Spotlight, Mount Ararat Baptist Church spokesperson, and more! Now Mrs. Hood-Tinor has now created and hosting her new show, PGH SPOT.
PGH SPOT is a web interview show that highlights and spotlights Pittsburgh’s very own business owners, entrepreneurs, and innovative leaders. “For the past three years our mission has been to inspire and cultivate a sense of community and togetherness,” said Mrs. Hood-Tinor.
PGH SPOT was awarded start-up funding through an Urban Innovation 21 grant in the late 2012. PGH SPOT has maintained their relationship with Urban Innovation 21 and more corporate and nonprofit sponsors.
“The show recently partnered with Local Pittsburgh which is a popular human interest magazine that focuses on telling the untold stories of the people in Pittsburgh. Local Pittsburgh is a copy distributed to over 30,000 readers, and they also have an online magazine where you can find PGH SPOT episodes,” Mrs. Hood-Tinor said.
Mrs. Hood-Tinor is no stranger to the media industry. She has been successful in media for ten years. Mrs. Hood-Tinor is the 2009 recipient of Whirl Magazine’s Pittsburgh 50 finest, 2015 award recipient of Pittsburgh’s Magazine’s 40 under 40, and a 2016 recipient of the The New Pittsburgh Courier’s Fab 40 award. Her work has reached national levels, and awarded much recognition.
Mrs. Hood-Tinor said, “My awards and accolades belong to my husband, brother, mother, family, friends, Mount Ararat Baptist Church, and all of the people who continue to support PGH SPOT! It also belongs to all of the amazing people that have been on the show and help to produce it. Most importantly it belongs to God.”
CEO of SPGH SPOT Show also recently had the opportunity to meet First Lady, Michelle Obama, Pittsburgh Steeler’s Head Coach Mike Tomlin’s Wife Kiya Tomlin, and Hollywood Actress, Lynn Whitfield.
“I enjoy producing this on-line interview program that spotlights the people who make Pittsburgh great! We exist to put your light on the spot,” Mrs. Hood-Tinor.
