By: Paige K. Mitchell The Women’s March based in Pittsburgh, Pa. took place on the afternoon of Sunday January 21, 2018. Thousands participated in the march, while wearing hot pink hats and carrying signs such as; Lock Him Up, Your Vote Is Your Voice, I Resist & I Vote! Thousands of women, children, and men poured into the streets of Downtown. They gathered at the City-County Building on Grant Street, and the women marched to Market Square to rally and hear a few select speeches. Speeches and signs focused on ‘Power to the Polls.’ Voting was the constant theme. “I think it’s really important for us to vote, and encourage others to vote. I believe it’s so important that I brought my daughters here with me - 8 & 9 to See and be a part of history,” Amanda Lewis said. Unity at its best!
